RECRUS Research eNewsletter (eISSN 2805-5004)

RECRUS stands for Relevant-Credible-Useful. The RECRUS Research eNewsletter is a fully open-access academic and scientific publications with a special focus on clinical epidemiology, methodology and biostatistics underscoring the meta-research and meta-science for high-quality research and integrity. It aims to facilitate translation and implementation of clinical and biomedical research findings into clinical practice. Through its articles a more vibrant research culture could be cultivated in the mind, hearts and will of individuals readers leading the same in the institution where the readers come from. A high-quality research culture is presence when the majority of the people in an institution are practicing RECRUS related behaviours in the conducts of research. The RECRUS Research eNewsletter was first published on 1st July 2021.

There are no article-processing charges associated with submitting to or publishing in the RECRUS. All articles in line with the newsletter aspiration and scope are welcomed. The published articles are disseminated widely through the university and social media networks. As well as networks of the board members. The newsletter also welcome research-related advertisement such as proven drugs, products, interventional programs, workshops or conferences. The newsletter articles are freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 IGO licence (CC BY 3.0 IG0) and appropriate citation of any of its article is expected.

About the Newsletter

A. Objectives:

  1. To disseminate knowledge/news related to the conduct of clinical and biomedical research
  2. To be a watchtower of quality clinical research and practices
  3. To comment on landmark studies and its meanings to clinicians
  4. To document the research achievements by HPUPM/CRU and impacts on clinical practices
  5. To engage with national and international healthcare providers as supporters, event attendees, sponsors, donors, potential collaborators and prospective students

 B. Contents or Sections (optional based on availability):

  1. Breaking News (including pandemic scientific responses) or Landmark Study: Sharing of latest studies and its meanings (to HPUPM), with explanations on the research methodologies used in the studies.
  2. Research Achievements and Impacts: News on contributions felt by the community from the researches done by the HPUPM/FPSK staff. Study summary on researches that have won funding. Study abstracts for recent publications by staff.
  3. Clinical Epidemiology: Pearls of research methodologies, meta-research or meta-science. Reminders and revisits to research frauds in the past.
  4. Current Evidence: Appraisal of the latest or recent important clinical trials and studies in the country and the world
  • Summaries on the latest national and international clinical practice guidelines
  • Learned opinion on the current clinical or health issues (arises in the current or the past month) in the university, country and the world
  • Futuristic about potential health treats
  1. Announcements & Current Issues/follow-up:
  2. Postgraduate Students: Graduated UPM’s MMed/PhD/MSc students and the importance of their research findings
  3. Advertisement: wider exposure for sponsors and important products relevant for clinical research and practice
