Regular Training Enhances the Competency of HSAAS Laboratory Staff Throughout 2025
SERDANG, 2025 – Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia remains committed to enhancing the competency and professionalism of its laboratory staff through the implementation of various regular training programmes throughout 2025.
Among the programmes conducted were the Refresher Training on Blood Gas Equipment on 28 April 2025, involving 10 participants, followed by training on the use of Nikon microscopes at the Microbiology Laboratory on 10 June 2025, with 17 staff in attendance.
In addition, safety aspects were emphasised through the organisation of a Chemical Spill Management Briefing on 18 June 2025, as well as a Briefing on Chemical, Waste and Spill Management on 25 July 2025, involving 10 and 16 participants respectively.
HSAAS also organised a three-day Malaria and Parasitology Workshop from 17 to 19 June 2025, which saw an encouraging participation of 27 staff from various service schemes. This was followed by a specialised Refresher Training on the Phadia 200 Immunology Unit held on 18 August 2025, involving five staff members.
Concluding the 2025 training programme, the MS ISO 15189:2022 Document Refinement Workshop was held from 8 to 10 December 2025 at Universiti Putra Malaysia, with the participation of 28 staff.
The organisation of these training programmes reflects HSAAS’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that laboratory staff remain knowledgeable, highly skilled, and compliant with established quality and safety standards.
