SERDANG, 9 January 2026 – Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) marked a historic milestone with the successful and smooth implementation of its first Friday Prayer, held in a spiritually uplifting and blessed atmosphere within the hospital premises. The inaugural Friday Prayer represents a meaningful achievement in strengthening the observance of Islamic practices and fulfilling the spiritual needs of staff members, patients, and the wider hospital community. This initiative reflects the hospital management’s commitment to providing comprehensive religious facilities, in line with HSAAS’s role as a teaching hospital that upholds holistic values and moral excellence. |

The historic occasion was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, YBhg. Dato’ Professor Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan bin Mohd Sadullah, as well as Al-Fadhil Ustaz Mohd Kamal bin Hassan from the Sepang District Islamic Religious Office. The Friday Prayer was led by Ustaz Ahmad Muaz bin Yahya, while the sermon emphasized the importance of unity within the ummah, integrity in service, and the responsibility of fulfilling one’s trust as stewards (khalifah) in the workplace. The strong turnout of congregants, filling the prayer rows, symbolized unity and collective commitment among the hospital community in enlivening Islamic values within the institution. The solemn and orderly atmosphere throughout the prayer reflected the congregation’s enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity to perform the Friday Prayer within their own workplace. |
