The Malaria Microscopy Diagnostic Workshop 2024 was held from August 6 to 8, 2024, at the Medical Microbiology Laboratory, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS), UPM. This workshop was organized by the Medical Microbiology Department of HSAAS, UPM, in collaboration with the Selangor State Health Department. A total of 16 participants from government and private agencies took part.

Ms. Veviana Koudi and Ms. Nur Kamilia Abdullah from the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS), who are WHO Certified Microscopists, were invited as speakers and facilitators. The organization of this workshop represents a joint effort by the Medical Microbiology Department of HSAAS and JKNS to enhance the knowledge and skills of laboratory staff in the Blood Film for Malaria Parasite (BFMP) testing.

The participants provided positive feedback on the workshop. The organizing committee hopes that the participants will apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their respective workplaces.
