All praise be to Allah S.W.T. for His mercy and blessings, as we celebrate the Official Opening Ceremony of Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah UPM, graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Chancellor and Sultan of Selangor, on the 28th of February 2023.

For your information, Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah UPM—formerly known as UPM Teaching Hospital—began its construction in 2014 with a current contract value of RM600 million. The construction incorporated Green Building rating standards, the Quality Assessment System for Building Construction, and 80% usage of the Industrialized Building System (I.B.S.), surpassing the national benchmark of 70%.

With the establishment of this hospital, the university’s medical expertise can be extended to benefit both the UPM community and the public. The management of Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah UPM will continue to plan strategic initiatives and collaborations to make it a respected institution, on par with the world’s top university hospitals, serving as a center of reference in specialized fields and contributing to the well-being of society. This is in line with the university's aspiration to make a meaningful contribution in developing healthcare specialists, advancing knowledge and academic expertise, and enhancing public health for the betterment of society and national development.

I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all parties involved, especially the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), for their unwavering support and commitment in making UPM a hub for producing top medical professionals for the advancement of humanity through the exploration and dissemination of knowledge.

It is my hope that Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah UPM will continue to achieve excellence and support national development initiatives, particularly in the field of medicine.
