Established in 2019, Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), formerly known as the Universiti Putra Malaysia Teaching Hospital (HPUPM), was officially inaugurated by His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj on 28 February 2023. Spanning 38.4 hectares, HSAAS has a capacity of 400 beds and is equipped with a comprehensive range of public amenities, including 2,000 parking bays, multiple waiting areas, prayer facilities, patient recreational spaces, a detainee treatment room, nine retail outlets, a cafeteria, and a children's playground, all designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of patients and visitors. As the teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), HSAAS is committed to educating and training future healthcare professionals while advancing research in diagnostic medicine and innovative therapeutic interventions. The hospital provides comprehensive outpatient services across a wide range of medical specialties and subspecialties, as well as day care services, including endoscopy, diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine, supported by pathology and microbiology laboratory services. In addition, HSAAS serves as a Centre of Clinical Excellence, delivering advanced clinical care, research, and education through its six flagship centres:
