FUNCTIONS OF THE HSAAS PROTEM MANAGEMENT BOARD

Functions of the HSAAS Management Board (PROTEM)

1. Review and endorse all policies and guidelines related to Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS).

2. Implement university-approved policies concerning the operations and management of HSAAS.

3. Monitor the hospital’s overall performance to ensure alignment with the university’s strategic direction and objectives.

4. Promote efficient and effective management, and conduct comprehensive reviews of the hospital’s operations when necessary.

5. Approve policies related to learning, clinical research, and patient care, as well as relevant circulars issued by the Ministry of Health Malaysia for implementation at HSAAS.

6. Approve the hospital’s annual report and submit it to the University Board of Directors.

7. Oversee and approve all financial policies of HSAAS, including entering into contracts on behalf of the university or establishing trust funds as required for hospital purposes.

8. Recommend to the university the creation of positions—both medical and non-medical—needed to support hospital teaching, research, and service functions.

9. Receive regular reports on key aspects of hospital management, including:
   a. Hospital Administration
   b. Financial Performance
   c. Infrastructure and Development

10. Recommend continuous improvement measures to the hospital management from time to time.
