Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is a department under Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS). CRU is a specialized department that manages clinical research conducted at HPUPM; which involves patient-centered and lab-based investigations.

SERVICES
Research Development and Management
- To give support and help in research activities either Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) or Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR).
- To assist in grant applications for research done in HSAAS.
- To assist in research registration, ethics approval and assist in approval for publication.
- To assist in grant and research monitoring in terms of progress and financial expenditure.
- To assist in publication of research findings in good impact journals.
Research Consultation Clinic
To help those who are interested in doing research such as health care professionals and postgraduate students in identifying potential areas of research and proposal preparation
Training Development
- To coordinate training involving research in HSAAS.
- To conduct workshops such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Research Practice (GRP), Continuous Professionals Development (CPD) and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Centre for Clinical Trial
- To conduct clinical trials for Phase 2 & 3
- To establish clinical trials for Phase 1
Networking Establishment
To establish and facilitate networking and collaboration within the faculty, university, as well as with other government and non-government organizations and international organizations.
